In her best-selling memoir, Fastest Things on Wings (2015), Terry describes the chain of unexpected events that drew her into wildlife rescue and led to a lifetime of rehabilitating hummingbirds in Los Angeles. Since saving her first nestling in 2004, Terry has been involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of over 10,000 hummingbirds from several species in Southern California.

We rehabilitate orphaned and injured hummingbirds in the Los Angeles area and surrounding communities, including Santa Monica, West LA, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Pasadena, the South Bay, and the San Fernando Valley.

Hummingbirds are protected under federal law and must be cared for by licensed wildlife rehabilitators only. If you find a hummingbird or are aware of a nest of young birds that may be in trouble, please contact Terry at: 310-804-3715.

Los Angeles Hummingbird Rescue currently receives no funding from private sources and relies solely on a few dedicated volunteers to continue its environmentally important work. Because our website is easily accessible to the public, Los Angeles Hummingbird Rescue receives 5,000 calls annually from finders throughout Southern California. Donations from the public help us continue to provide experienced care for the thousands of orphaned and injured hummingbirds found in Los Angeles each year.
